3D Intermotive's mission is to empower car enthusiasts to share and experience exotic, custom and rare cars through true-to-life, 3D digital representations - Carvatars. Offering the next best thing to a car meet huddle in real life.

As a deep tech startup, they needed an agency that could handle complex technical requirements. They chose LLUME as their technology partners to design and develop an end-to-end MVP solution.

Carvatars are 3D representations of actual cars and therefore, incumbent 3D scanning techniques would not suffice. We knew that Gaussian Splatting would be perfect as it's fast and captures transparent and shiny surfaces particular well when compared with Photogrammetry, LiDAR and NeRFs.

As well as choosing the right technology for the backend processing, there was also a need to build a compelling MVP to show early adopters and investors. Initially, 3D Intermotive sought to partner with a dedicated UI company, but after seeing our technical capabilities and design expertise, opted for our agency's complete, end-to-end design and development services.

Going full-stack allowed us to build the product at breakneck speed. Within days we had a working prototype that we were showcasing to investors.

As their dedicated technical agency, we designed and built a powerful MVP from the ground up to help secure their seed funding. Our work included:

• 3D backend pipeline - Built custom tools to convert videos into Gaussian Splatting 3D scenes
• Human-in-the-loop post-processing - Devised a strategic workaround utilizing human-in-the-loop elements to clean up scan data, bypassing the long and expensive R&D typically required for fully automated pipelines

• Nvidia GPU processing - Accelerated processing by incorporating CUDA-enabled GPUs

With our agency's technical execution, 3D Intermotive used the MVP we built to garner strong interest from high-end car showrooms and secure £500,000 in seed funding for their current investment round.

The technology we developed proved its value - and has become the foundation for the next iteration of product development.
